IRON NEST Gold Medal Guide

Plan IRON NEST gold runs using the fifteen official mission-achievement pairs, clean baselines, controlled tests, and patch-aware evidence.

The official Steam list documents fifteen achievements for earning gold on all medals in named operations. It proves the operation-to-award pairs below, but not the hidden numeric requirements inside each mission. Treat a gold guide as a verified run log rather than a guessed threshold sheet.

Game: IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator. Scope: AppID 2950790, Windows/Steam public 1.0, official achievement list checked 2026-08-09. Spoiler-sensitive choices and exact medal conditions require current-run confirmation.

Official gold pairs

  • Calibration Fire — Duty Fulfilled
  • Fire and Light — Marksman’s Honour
  • Liberation — Exemplary Service
  • Counter-Battery — Distinguished Conduct
  • Iron Road — Crowned in Brass
  • Siege of Cartagena — Naval Commendation
  • The Gorge — Valour Under Fire
  • Rock of Gibraltar — Order of Merit
  • Dead Reckoning — Quiet Precision
  • Fire on Call — Iron Discipline
  • High Tide — Coastal Defence Medal
  • Blind Fire — Unshaken
  • Phantom Battery — Master Gunner
  • Final Harvest — Night’s Precision
  • White Shells — Pride of Castile

White Shells is anchored by its gold achievement even though the official public list does not present a separate matching completion award. Do not invent that missing award.

Prepare a gold attempt

First complete the operation and photograph or transcribe every medal row. Build a stable firing plan: target evidence, shell, powder, bearing, elevation, barrel, expected dispatch transitions, and a contingency. Update the game before repeating a result affected by early patches.

Decide which condition is being tested. Save economy, assistance, accuracy, time, target choice, and narrative choice as separate variables. Requisitioning fewer items while also firing fewer shots and changing an ending route creates ambiguous evidence.

Preserve mission completion while optimizing

Gold still requires a correct operation. Do not skip a newspaper, required effect, or teleprinter stage to shave time. Wait for the game to recognize each state. Use the Mission Index to keep full-game operation names separate from Demo guides.

If the target or Nest moves, rebuild the solution. A fast shot made from stale geometry may lose accuracy and spend more resources than a deliberate recalculation.

Confirm the award on both layers

At completion, capture every in-game medal, the newspaper, and the Steam notification. The gold Steam achievement should be treated as a platform confirmation after the mission’s internal medal result, not a replacement for it.

Dismiss the newspaper normally and let saving finish. Record public patch and whether Steam was online. If the internal gold appears but Steam does not, troubleshoot the platform separately rather than replaying with different mission conditions immediately.

Handle contradictory community requirements

Prefer a complete public-1.0 run with visible result over a text comment. Compare two independent runs when possible. If players succeed with different requisition counts, the true threshold may be a range or another hidden variable.

Publish uncertainty explicitly: “gold observed with no recon in two runs” is stronger than “recon always fails,” unless a counterexample-free controlled test supports the latter. Never copy an unfinished community table as canonical.

High Tide and patch boundaries

PATCH 1.0 (1547) fixed an incorrect or duplicate High Tide newspaper and record. A pre-patch Coastal Defence result may not reproduce. PATCH 1.0 (1558) also fixed crash-related save and mission-entry problems, so current content is required for reliable campaign-wide tracking.

Keep a version column in the gold matrix and recheck any operation named in future notes.

Efficient completion route

Work one operation at a time: baseline, identify missing medals, isolate the easiest condition, confirm it, then combine confirmed behaviors in a final clean run. Combining comes last because it proves compatibility between individual requirements.

Back up progress through supported Steam Cloud behavior, but do not manipulate unknown save paths. Gold research should never risk the whole profile.

Combine conditions only after isolation

Once individual medal behaviors are reproduced, perform one final run satisfying them together. Record any interaction: a fast route may require more requisition, while an unaided route may take longer. The combined gold result demonstrates compatibility, but it still does not prove every step is necessary. Publish the shortest verified sufficient route and keep stricter alternatives labeled as such.
