IRON NEST Multiplayer Status

Check IRON NEST single-player, multiplayer, co-op, PvP, Workshop, VR, console, and future-title status without turning roadmap plans into shipped features.

Public version 1.0 of IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator is single-player. Steam lists the base game under single-player, and the developer FAQ says the full 1.0 release is entirely single-player. Multiplayer is planned, but it is not a current mode and has no checked public date.

Status check: Base-game AppID 2950790, official Store/FAQ/launch materials reviewed 2026-08-09. Roadmap statements are labeled future; no AppID, date, player count, or network feature is invented.

What you can play now

Campaign and Challenge Missions are the two core mode categories described by the FAQ. Challenge includes repeatable variation and leaderboard competition, but an online leaderboard does not make the operation multiplayer. No other player joins the Nest in current public 1.0.

Steam Remote Play or streaming a screen is not evidence of supported co-op. Use only features the live Store page lists.

Base-game multiplayer plan

The FAQ states that multiplayer is planned for the existing game. The checked source does not establish release timing, exact cooperative roles, PvP, lobby size, networking model, cross-play, or whether saves/progression will carry into it.

Treat every specific design claim as unresolved until an official announcement or public Store feature update confirms it. A roadmap intention can change during development.

Separate future co-op project

The developer also discusses a future standalone title built around a shared platform/co-op concept. It is distinct from the current base game and has no public AppID in the checked evidence. Do not label it DLC, an installed branch, or an included mode for AppID 2950790.

If a future Store page appears, verify product type and AppID before merging any facts. Similar branding does not make two executables one product.

PvP, Workshop, VR, and console

The FAQ says Workshop support is under serious consideration. That is not shipped Workshop integration. Console and VR are future-stage interests after the PC priority, not current platform promises with dates.

No checked official source establishes PvP. “Multiplayer” alone can mean many designs, so this page does not infer competitive gun crews, shared bunkers, or versus artillery.

Steam Deck and Linux are separate questions

An official announcement says the game is Steam Deck Verified. The FAQ says there is no native Linux build and discusses Proton compatibility. Neither status implies multiplayer or a Linux server.

Use Steam Deck Support for compatibility and Controller Support for inputs.

How updates will change this status

Require one of these before saying multiplayer shipped: an official public announcement naming the feature, live Store category change, or reproducible public-build mode. A testing-branch BuildID or developer aspiration is insufficient.

When it changes, record AppID, public branch, version, platform, date, player count, session flow, save boundary, and whether the separate co-op title remains distinct. Link from Updates rather than silently rewriting old roadmap context.

Common questions

Can two players operate the two guns now?

No supported current multiplayer mode is documented. One player manages both guns.

No. Current linking supports leaderboard/community integration. PATCH 1.0 (1558) improved code generation; the code is not a game key.

Does “eventual multiplayer” mean it is guaranteed on a date?

It is an official direction, but the checked sources provide no date or final scope. Keep it in roadmap status.

Verify future announcements precisely

When official news mentions multiplayer, read whether it describes research, testing, a closed branch, a public beta, or a shipped feature. Confirm the product/AppID and Store categories. A trailer for the separate co-op project must not update the base-game feature list. Preserve the announcement date so roadmap history remains intelligible.

Community requests, polls, and developer replies can clarify interest without changing shipped status. Label them as discussion and avoid turning tentative examples into specifications. Until a public implementation exists, questions about latency, hosting, anti-cheat, voice chat, or shared controls have no verified base-game answer. Point players to the latest official update instead of predicting a design.
